The Biblical practice of lament is more than complaining. It is complaining to someone you can trust. It keeps one's focus outward, on God, rather than inward. I like what James Bruckner in his book, Healthy Human Life says, “Lament, coming honestly before God, is Biblical praise in a minor key.” Listen to more here.
