Books Arrive in the Warehouse Tomorrow
The books arrive at the warehouse tomorrow. Which means we'll be shipping at the beginning of next week! Thank you for your support and being patient!
Hoodies!
The nursing group that's headed to Haiti over spring break, 2016, is selling these to help pay their way. Order through McKenzie at Mevulgamore@mnu.edu. If you're in KC, these can also be purchased at the MidAmerica Nazarene bookstore. I think they're $30. I don't know about shipping, but McKenzie can give you info. She's very smart like that.

Arranging, rearranging

Some things cannot be fixed…
They can only be held.
Thanksgiving
The scripture/art Quincy finished up Dec 31. The day before she was promoted. The words are the challenge she left us with. But, of course, they aren't from Quincy. They're from the Apostle Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit. Life often causes us to ask for God's direction, for His plan or will. Thessalonians 5:16-18 makes it as plain as possible. What if your life reflected this verse in every area? What if everyone's life reflected this verse? Imagine our world. With all due respect to John Lennon, this is what we should be imagining... and pursuing.

Why We're Working with Heart to Heart in Haiti
Live in the Light
Quincy was a True Poet
Peace and Grief
Peace of mind is a contradiction of terms. Richard Rohr
Real peace is different than “peace of mind”. Our minds are seldom at peace. Real peace
Every Morning
Every morning
the world
is created
Under the orange
sticks of the sun
the heaped ashes
of the night
turn into leaves again
(The first few lines from “Morning Poem” by Mary Oliver)
And we have a choice to be recreated every single morning.
Lightshine
The light shines on other things. It does not shine on itself.
"The lives of saints never point to themselves, but always and forever beyond themselves to the One who chose them, uses them and loves them." Richard Rohr
The Prayer I Posted on New Years Day
Just hours before we learned of Quincy's promotion I posted this prayer to our church's website...
A New Years Prayer
May God bless us with discomfort
At pat answers, partial truths, and
Anemic relationships
So we may live out of depth
May God bless us with challenges
To til the soil of our shallow commitment
So seeds of hope can take hold
And grow into great forests of faith
May He bless us with faith
Faith that keeps us foolish enough to believe
And brave enough to act
Faith is the thing hoped for and the assurance of what is going to happen.
Amen.
Progress
It doesn't look like much yet, but the field is progressing! This image shows a part of the field. It's about 3/4's level. Soon to be all the way leveled! More pictures to come as soon as I get them.
I Miss Quincy
I Focus on God so All things come into Focus
Time
Time
By: Quincy Foster (age 14 or 15)
Time is an unpredictable thing.
Sometimes it throws stuff we're not ready for.
But life goes on, as does time.
The suffering and scars we will forever bore.
The future is not always how we want it.
It changes by the choices we make.
Our fate is not forever set in stone.
It varies depending on the risks we take.
Each second the clock ticks can hurt.
Time is slicing through our veins.
But the clock will always keep ticking,
Even when it’s causing us pain.
Events will just keep passing.
And people will disappear.
Remember to make the right choices.
Time shouldn't be something we fear.
LQVE HAITI Promo Video
Some great images of S/E Haiti... the people and the land we're investing in... and also some really nice simple footage of Quincy at the beginning and the end. Thank you Dylan for putting this together.
